Building a Dungeon

During the last week I received my order from "ItacaDisseny", we had been talking about how to build a Dungeon in 2D, in a fast way, that could be put away in a small space.

Criamon sent to me my order, and after unpacking it I found all this:

Everything came printed and textured, so I only have to paint them, and add some ink; a few hours later...
Without Ink
Inked and finished
The material is hard and tough, and the texture is light, very easy to be painted, a it doesn't require any special care to be handled.

Very recommended, in the end, I have my dungeon ready to be used.

A personal view of the Victorian era

The Victorian era is the period where Queen Victoria reigned in England between 1837 and 1901. This is the longest reign in England.

During this period were two big events that happened in England and that affect the whole world.

First, the invention of the steam engine by Watt, this invention kick-started the Industrial Revolution, with the change of the economical system, developing the cities and the start of the big migrations from the countryside to the cities. This also caused the developing of the medium - high class, with the well-off industrials that started to employ a lot of people from the countryside.

Second, British colonialism was in full expansion, the British Empire expanded from Ireland to the South Seas, with important commercial routes in India, Cape Green and Somalia. England had lost his colonies in America, but the silk and species commerce still gave to the crown a lot of gold to help not worry about the future. The fact to be English meant that you were "White", of the superior race, and to be a Sir with a lot of Honour, so the English gentlemen were better than any other person in the World, chauvinism was so high as we can see in the song "Rule Britannia".

Colonialism brought the European customs to the non European world, in the colonized land the natives learned English and the colonizer gave them technology, in exchange for gold, silk, spices and other wealth of the new lands.

But the Victorian era had too shadows, mainly the use of adjective "victorian" is used as cutting, it means that something is prudish, with a double morale, the reason of that meaning is that during this epoch the well-off industrials tried to copy the aristocratic stands, but crushed the lower classes with working days of 18 hours, where the children and women earned less because the produced less, and with no social service.

Also, colonialism swept away a lot of native cultures following the philosophy of "Britain is the light of the World".

Back in the "city" there was a very high level of prostitution, consequence of the exploitation made by the industrials. In this era appeared Jack the Ripper, the first serial killer of the modern world.

To finish, this era was the most important era for the British people, during it the colonize lands get an European culture, and philosophy; the Industrial revolution based the ideas of the current capitalist economical system.

One last note, in the last decade of the 20th Century, the Victorian era had a revival with the creation of the Steampunk  novels that introduced the Science Fiction in the age of steam, this kind of novels tries to answer the question of: "What if the steam had continued being the main energy source?"
